Uncle Arthur reading Parachute Girls

As an author nothing is more touching than your great uncle reading your novel about his family and giving his approval! That's exactly what my Uncle Arthur Hesketh did after reading the story that details his days as a youth during war-torn Manchester with his older sister, my grandmother. Arthur's character, Anthony, is the baby of the family. After tragedy strikes, it becomes Kay's job to rear young Anthony. The story follows the highs and lows of life for young Kay culminating in her arrival in the United States as a British war bride. If you haven't read Parachute Girls yet- you should! Uncle Arthur is 92 years old in this photo taken in February 2017.
