Mending Fences…Literally

Yesterday my mama and I were out checking fences for my brother Lem. I found a mower had caught the bottom strand and taken it out between two posts. This left a hole in the fenceline any calf or cow could have walked under. So I grabbed my pliers and some wire, made an eye on either end- fed it through, then tied it off on either side. Next came the staples, replacing them where cows have leaned on the barbed wire pushing them out. It was hot work and tiring, but in the end mending fences is rewarding work. Have you mended any fences recently? Literally or figuratively?
